We are the Eastern Sussex Democrats, a group of like minded people committed to electing Democrats to office and ensuring Democratic policies in governance.

 

We beilieve in social, racial, economic, and environmental justice; in a robust and effective system of public education; and in equality of opportunity regardless of gender, nationality, race, sexual orientation, or gender identification. Join us!

Our Endorsements

First elected to the State Senate in 2022, Russ Huxtable has proven himself to be a dedicated and effective legislator, authoring and sponsoring important legislation to prohibit commercial development in Cape Henlopen State Park as well as addressing many other critical issues.

Stell Parker-Selby was elected to the 20th Representative District seat in 2022 in one of only two races that flipped a traditionally Republican seat to Democratic control, the other being Huxtable’s State Senate bid. Parker-Selby has well established roots in the area and has been an outstanding representative for the interests of her constituents.

Tom Brett, a resident of Millsboro, is driven to provide visionary leadership to the 41st District.  His top priorities include support for women and families, quality education, renewable energy, and responsible growth.  With his background as a senior business leader, advocate, and US Army veteran, Tom is well-equipped to engage with constituents, stakeholders, and fellow legislators to enhance the lives and futures of all Delawareans.

Gregg Lindner is running for State Representative from RD 4. Gregg recently retired as the executive chairman of a large media and marketing company and previously held elected office and has served in a variety of work and volunteer organizations.  He is focused on the issues related to sustainable growth, affordable workforce housing, health care availability in Sussex County, and protecting woman’s health care and reproductive rights.

Delaware State Senator and US House of Representatives candidate Sarah McBride grew up in Wilmington and has been advocating for her community for decades. She worked for former Governor Jack Markell, the late Attorney General Beau Biden, and served in the Obama-Biden White House.  Most recently, she served as the national spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ equal rights organization.

Jane Gruenebaum is seeking to fill the 3rd District seat on the Sussex County Council. She is the co-founder and immediate past president of the Sussex Preservation Coalition, a group made up of individuals and organizations dedicated to protecting the delicate environment of Sussex County.  

A graduate of the London School of Economics and Columbia University, Jane has also served with several nonprofit orgnizations and was Executive Director of the League of Women Voters.

Rony Baltazar-Lopez is seeking to represent RD 36 in the state legislature. Born and raised in Milford,  Rony is product of the Milford School District and spent a term as the Vice President of the Milford Board of Education. 

A graduate of the University of Delaware with a master's degree in public administration, Rony has served internships with Senator Tom Carper and Attorney General Kathy Jennings and serves on the executive boards of several nonprofit and advisory councils. He is currently the Director of Legislative Affairs and Communications for the Delaware Department of State.
