Tom Iarossi, President

Tom is a Vietnam veteran, a retired US Army First Sergeant, and a former elementary school teacher who came to Sussex County after years of political activism in California. A lifelong Democrat, Tom has worked on campaigns ranging from the local water board to the Congressional level and has served on the boards of several Democratic organizations. Tom is also the secretary of the Delaware Democratic Veterans and Military Families Caucus.

Nancy Zimmerman, Vice President

Nancy is a retired Secretary, having worked in Philadelphia, PA, and Roanoke, VA.  A lifelong Democrat, Nancy became active in politics during the Hilary Clinton presidential run.  After moving to Delaware Nancy became a Poll Worker and started to attend the ESD meetings, stepping in to take over the duties of the membership chair when the need arose.

Alice Casey, Treasurer

Alice lives in Rehoboth Beach and has political experience from City of Wilmington and New Castle County dating back to Joe Biden's very first Senate campaign in 1972. She has a lifetime connection to coastal Sussex through family ties to Dewey. Alice had a long career with AIG in finance and did post retirement work with DelDOT and Dart in contracts and procurement.

Travis Stevens, Secretary

Russ Mojcher, Member at Large

Russell Mojcher (pronounced "Moyer") retired after working for the State of Connecticut for over 40 years as a vocational guidance counselor for a federally-funded job training program and as a disability examiner. Russell and his wife, Gail, moved to Delaware to enjoy the mild  winters and the nearby beaches.

Carolyn Newcott, Member at Large

Carolyn is the retired managing editor of AARP.org. She and her husband Bill built a house near Lewes in early 2013 and ended up retiring early in December of that year. Carolyn comes from a family of Democrats and organized a March for Democracy in Georgetown before the 2024 election. She is serves on the boards of both the Coastal Georgetown branch of the American Association of University Women  and of the Delaware AAUW.
